Hi following up on a question I had a while ago - how would we implement an Apple Pay directly onto a Replo page? Ideally a user could click on it and check out We're trying to figure it out with dynamic buttons but getting a bit stuck
We don’t support Apple Pay out of the box, but you could get this working with some liquid code! You have to make sure it works in your Shopify theme first though, then you can use that same liquid using our liquid code component. Here is a Shopify resource for ya: https://shopify.dev/docs/storefronts/themes/pricing-payments/accelerated-checkout Keep me updated throughout your process! Would love to see how I can help as you get this set up.
Thank you!
Hi May H. we maybe be able to help in more detail. The Dynamic Checkout buttons I think should work but if you actually send us the page / store you're hoping to implement this on we'd now more. Specifically, we're looking to understand if you have Apple Pay setup on the store and if it's showing up via the standard Shopify Apple Pay integration/theme customizer setup. So if you have another non-Replo page (or PDP) on the same store WITH Apple Pay we'd be much closer to figuring out if Replo can help here. Also, we might ask for Collab Access just to check things out on the Shopify Admin side but we can get there in when we get there 🙂
May H. I think this should be doable via our Dynamic Checkout Buttons: https://support.replo.app/articles/4877448599-dynamic-checkout-buttons Basically as long as these are enabled on the Shopify admin side you should be able to add them to your buy boxes on various pages/PDPs 🙂
Hi sorry for the delay here!! Steve S., this is the Replo page I'd like to implement it on: https://takestasis.com/pages/yourbrain_0605_gwpcase As you can see - if you click on "Order Now" and go to the Shop page we have Apple Pay enabled. Please let me know if this helps add enough additional context
Hi May! I'm only seeing these three payment options in checkout
Have you activated Apple Pay in your Shopify admin?
Ah okay my bad — the Apple Pay button only shows up on iOS devices so it wasn't showing up on Chrome^. Steve sent you some docs above on how to add dynamic checkout buttons on your pages (not just in checkout). I duplicated a support copy of that page you sent, and added a Dynamic Checkout Button component there for you to play around with: https://dashboard.replo.app/editor/bb3b4b38-1e09-4554-ac3a-e5e26ec3be0b/330467ec-1184-4dad-a148-afcc1e76bcd0 However, there are some limitations around which payment method shows up in this dynamic checkout button.. After doing some digging, seems like dynamic checkout buttons are designed to automatically detect the best option for the specific customer viewing your shop, based on a number of factors like the customer's browser, device, payment history, etc. But there isn't a way to manually set which payment method shows up in this button. I would give this Shopify support doc a read. It mentions: "When you add accelerated checkout buttons to your online store, your options are to display or hide the accelerated checkout buttons, but you can't customize whether branded or unbranded accelerated checkout buttons display. The branded buttons display depending on payment methods that you've activated in your payment settings." Based on this, it seems like a potential way to get this to work is to configure some stuff in the payment settings in your Shopify admin and deactivate Shop Promise to increase the chances of the Apple Pay button showing up for iOS users?
Hi Carissa C., yeah for some reason it only gives me Shop Pay as an option on the dynamic checkout page /: Is the only option for us to try and deactivate Shop Promise?
Hmm, don't want to promise anything. But based on the docs, having Shop Promise activated will prioritize Shop Pay as the default method on the dynamic checkout button, so I would try deactivating it and seeing if it helps. There's definitely a trade-off to deactivating Shop Promise — it has some cool features like displaying an expected delivery date that's specific to when your customer placed an order and where that order will be delivered, etc. But from the looks of it, there's no place where you can set it 😕 If it's worth the hassle, I'm sure there's some way to custom code it — if there is an example Shopify store that does have an Apple Pay dynamic button in a buy box, feel free to send us a link so we can investigate how they've set it up in the backend, and maybe we can figure out a workaround 👀
Thank you! Seed does it here on their PDPs: https://seed.com/daily-synbiotic
Ahh unfortunately Seed is not a Shopify store so it wouldn't be too helpful to look at their page setup. Any other store in mind? I'll try to keep an eye out as well
