How to Disable Auto-Selected Variants in Product Configuration

Hi - Is there a way to remove the auto-selected variant? cannot find anything under config where you can trigger this. The green variant auto selects which automatically selects the photos associated with that variant

Click the product on the left side and go the config tab, remove the selected variant
