Benefits of Using Replo for Image Uploads vs. Shopify
Looks like there's a "replo" option now for image uploads. Is there a benefit to using that vs uploading to the shopify, or is it for organizational purposes?
Yeah we’re starting to roll this out slowly but surely! They should have all the built-in Shopify CDN stuff plus more, uses an edge-cache powered by cloueflare images so should be optimal for page speed
Bobby Macauley glad you like it. It's still early days but yes this is coming out and we'll be releasing some more info about this as we launch. Lots of gains but as Noah said the main one is page speed. Early days still but seeing some promising results: https://gtmetrix.com/compare/z7gOtjvR/xHvUWzkH ☝️ is two pages form the same store, 1 only using Shopify CDN, the other using only Replo's new CDN delivery, and you can see some great results on page speed. This also unlocks other cool features and micro-optimizations over time but this is a huge first step. And just to be clear, you can still leverage all the Shopify Assets as well, we just have surfaced those assets as secondary to our new Assets CDN 🙂
oh wow. i was hoping that might be it. i was updating a collections-type section on a page and the replo-based images seemed to be loading quicker than the shopify-based images
