For those on the job hunt, has anyone else noticed that the traditional "quality over quantity" job search advice feels completely broken right now? I'm curious how you're balancing the need to apply to enough jobs to be statistically relevant while still customizing each application enough to get past ATS filters.
I understand the frustration really, after seeing this message I needed to go source for possible solutions to the problem. I think the best thing to do is to Make 2 or more not-too-different resume. Like casting 2 ropes in river, one is for the Big Fishes, Strong and proficient, Directed towards some top tier brands you envision using targeted/key words they seek in applications. I also saw online that you can link up with some of their current employees for clues and basic preparations. Then the other can be the one of medium Customization using general template to apply to more roles as the opportunity comes. Nevertheless these things are really outrageous steps but the focus is the end-goal right?
This solid advice. Thanks, Ux S.. However, I'm also seeing hiring managers and career coaches saying we need custom resumes for every job we're applying to, which does make sense when you think about it. And we did create a tool to automate the job sourcing and application process, but I think this general adviceis somewhat broken unless you have an inside person helping or using a tool to automate and track everything
